Sustainability

The lands of Cobble Beach stand as a testament to the McLeese family's profound respect for the region. Developed with meticulous care, they aim to honour nature's bounty while fostering a deep connection between residents and guests and their environment.

The master plan is dedicated to safeguarding the marvels crafted by nature over eons - from the majestic geological formations of the ancient Nipissing and Algonquin shoreline ridges to the breathtaking vistas overlooking Georgian Bay.

Cobble Beach is steadfast in its commitment to crafting an environmentally sustainable, aesthetically pleasing, state-of-the-art golf course community. This commitment is rooted in their firm belief that:

the purpose of life is loving family and living in agreement with nature.”

Green Initiatives

Cobble Beach is proud to be one of Ontario’s first resorts to partner with the Keep Refillery to eliminate plastic bottle waste in the hotel rooms. All of our inn rooms and cottages now feature refillable shower dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and body wash, as well as refillable vanity pumps for hand soap and body lotion. The products in the rooms are locally sourced, all natural, organic and cruelty free!
Cobble Beach is a Dark-Sky lighting community in accordance with International Dark-Sky Association rules. Dark sky lighting fixtures, with directed lighting and shields to avoid light spillage, provide safe and secure energy-efficient lighting that does not generate light pollution. Cobble Beach won an award from the Stargazers of Grey and Bruce counties.

The Keep Refillery

The Keep Refillery opened its first location in Creemore in March 2020. Since then, they’ve added locations in Meaford, Kingston and Toronto and saved over 125,000 single-use plastics from ending up in lakes, rivers and landfills. Their goal is to eliminate single-use plastics and make refilling available to all. Refilling is simple. It’s rooted in the idea that people never again throw out an empty shampoo bottle. Instead, they bring it to The Keep and refill it with their all-natural, plant-based, biodegradable and micro-plastic-free product – creating zero plastic waste. The product line includes all personal and home cleaning products.
